Day 40

Luke 14:12-14

Who will be sitting around your table for Easter Dinner?  Who can you think of that might not have a place?

Who is welcomed easily in your home or your church?  Who is most likely not to be received openly?  Who needs a place at your congregation’s table?

How will your Easter celebration go beyond the typical “friends and family” to reflect the new banquet invitation list?

  1. It is now Easter Morning. I wanted to say thank you for this path through Lent. It is for me the first time Lent has held a fast that is devotionally significant. I found a couple quotes that I wanted to share as an expression of my gratitude. I participated in Lent, Good Friday, and today Easter morning…and I participated in the spirit these quotes point to. His Spirit, I believe.

“God expects from men something more than at such times, and that it were much to be wished for the credit of their religion as well as the satisfaction of their conscience that their Easter devotions in some measure come up to their Easter dress.” Bishop Robert South

“Do not abandon yourselves to despair (or excess, mine). We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.” Pope John Paul II

I enjoyed sharing the journey with all of you. I am changed; my ways will remain changed.

    Much love,
    Amanda
